Dining Table

  • I had the original piece of timber milled to produce boards for the table top which were biscuited together with an inlay to the centre.
  • As the timber had been used as a floor joist in its previous life it had hand chiselled check outs where the herringbone struts had been. To maintain its provenance, I left the holes untouched and filled the them with a clear synthetic resin.
  • I sourced other pieces hoop pine which were machined and joined to build the legs.
  • To preserve the light colour of the timber I am going to finish it with Feast and Watson Liming white.

Arc21 Project

This project is part of a personal hobby of working with timber. It involves a fantastic piece or Hoop Pine which was previously a floor joist in a building from the late 1800’s which came into my possession via family member. I decided to use it to build a six-seater dining table
